With the help of our Talent Team, National Youth Film Academy members Mark Jarvis and Grace Englert have landed lead roles in short film Walk of Shame, directed by member Emilie Cheung, who was part of Channel 4’s Random Acts.
Walk of Shame follows Lily (Englert) through different stages of her life, including university, motherhood and a sexual assault she endures at the hands of Adam (Jarvis), a confident, outgoing man she meets at a party.

Walk of Shame was up there with some of my favourite sets I’ve worked on! It was so good to link up with Emilie, who directed on Random Acts for Channel 4 and got nominated at Underwire Fest.
The role in itself was a challenge. Scenes of that nature are always nerve wracking. Grace was brilliant and very open as a scene partner, which made it so much easier to discuss how we wanted to play it so that we had a mutual understanding, which is absolutely vital.
I can’t wait to see the final piece, hopefully it helps challenge the issue!
