Join us for the next Film Talks on 25th March when we'll be discussing The Favourite with double BAFTA winning writer Deborah Davis and Costume Designing royalty, Sandy Powel. Early 18th century. England is at war with the French. Nevertheless, A frail Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) occupies the throne and her close friend Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) governs the country in her stead while tending to Anne's ill health and mercurial temper. When a new servant Abigail (Emma Stone) arrives, her burgeoning friendship with the Queen threatens to upset the status quo in court. Sandy is a three-time Academy Award winner, She has been recognised for her designs on The Young Victoria for Jean-Marc Vallée, The Aviator for Martin Scorsese and Shakespeare in Love for John Madden, Sandy also has twelve other nominations for features including Carol, Cinderella, Hugo, Mrs Henderson Presents, Gangs of New York, The Wings of the Dove, Orlando and The Irishman. Deborah is a highly decorated writer with two BAFTA Awards for the Favourite as well as a host of other awards and nominations including being nominated for an Academy Award for The Favourite in 2018. We're incredibly excited to welcome both Sandy and Deborah to Film Talks and can't wait to have them on the show to answer your questions all about The Favourite.
Film Talks - The King's Speech Trailer
Join us for Film Talks when we're joined by an Oscar winning legend, writer of The King's Speech, David Seidler. The King's Speech premiered in 2010 and was a global success. Brilliant performances from the likes of Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, and Geoffrey Rush saw the film skyrocket to Oscar success. The film won four Academy Awards including Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for Colin Firth, Best Achievement in Directing for Tom Hooper, Best Motion Picture of the Year and Best Writing for David Seidler. Film Talks - Journey's End Trailer
Film Talks: Journey's End Join us for the next Film Talks on 25th Feb when we'll be discussing Journeys End with Producer Guy de Beaujeu and Actor Andy Gathergood. Journeys End focuses on the story of a group of British soldiers awaiting their fate in the trenches of World War I. Guy is a Producer, Writer, Director, and Actor. He has worked on films including The Laureate, What you Will, Private Peaceful, Living in Hope as well as the TV Series Gatecrashers. Andy has fulfilled many roles in film and television working as a professional actor. Alongside his role in Journeys End he has been a member of the supporting cast in films such as The Death of Stalin by Armando Iannucci, Risen, the 2016 blockbuster, and the BAFTA award-winning short, Until The River Runs Red. He has also appeared in numerous TV Series including The Last Kingdom, Britania, and the Emmy and Golden Globe winning series Hatfields and McCoys in which he plays Tom Wallace.
